MP01 18mm : Magnetic Reluctance Sensors Series MP01

MP01 18mm - Magnetic Reluctance Sensors Series MP01 A self generating sensor suitable for sensing small gear teeth.

The MP01 magnetic reluctance sensor detects change in an electromagnetic field which occurs when a ferrous metal changes position with respect to the pole piece of the probe.

The self-contained magnetic system is fully encapsulated within an outer sleeve, resulting in a rugged and highly reliable component. The output obtained from the probe is dependent on the distance from the moving ferrous material and its relative velocity.

Output Characteristics
Magnetic sensors produce a varying sinusoidal type output signal and are normally used with an electronic amplifying system.

Sensing Targets
In many situations, alternatives to toothed wheels are readily available on the equipment to be monitored. Examples are: Bolt heads on flywheels, spokes on wheels and vibrating or oscillating surfaces. Where the moving members are non ferrous, steel screws may often be introduced.

Custom Versions
Magnetic sensors can be supplied in customised mechanical packages depending on your requirements.

When used in conjunction with a rotating wheel of ferrous material, output pulses are produced which can be used directly with the Control Ability range of analogue or digital tachometers and counters.

MPO1 magnetic sensor probes are available in 5/8UNF, 1/4BSP and 18mm threaded sleeves and are encapsulated in epoxy resin.
