Portable Tachometer system PFM ES Speed measurement using NPN plug in Optical and Inductive sensors. The PFM ES system is a portable hand held pulse monitoring tachometer. It is designed for use with a range of plug in pulse producing sensors. Inductive sensors are used sense rotating metal parts & are usually fixed in position on machinery to be monitored, Typical sensing distances are 2 to 4 mm. Rotating bolt heads etc can be used. Optical sensors can be fixed or hand held at distances up to 500mm, using a piece of reflective tape. The use of plug in sensors allows speed sensing from fixed or temporary mountings to be carried out by the same hand held instrument. Multiple type machine installations can be monitored by fixed sensors, usually inductive. Optical sensors are more flexible and can be quickly moved between installations. The PFM ES system is designed for use with one pulse per revolution. The ES1 system comprises the hand held monitor & an IN inductive sensor. The ES2 system uses an optical sensor with a hand held monitor. The ES Kit is available with one optical & one inductive sensor, & is available to be applied to a wide variety of situations, The kit is supplied in a plastic carrying case. Typical mounting arrangements for the optical sensor can be made via standard adjustable brackets. Special tripod mounting are also available.
